Opening Reception Saturday, January 21 from 6 to 8 PM Gallery talk at 7 PM. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Immediately after the gallery talk, Melinda Meyer, Erie Arts and Culture Program Director will distribute grants to Warren organizations awarded Project Stream and Program Stream funding. The photographs in this exhibition are some of the best images of the Warren Camera Club―21 men and women who call Warren County home and are your neighbors.
“Our club started circa 1940 as a ‘slide club’ where members used only black and white film. By 1951, color slides were the norm. In 2007, we changed our name to Warren Camera Club in recognition of our members’ increasing reliance on digital photography in this ever-changing medium. At first glance, our club members don’t have much in common; we are a diverse group of individuals. What we share is a passion for photography. We are intrigued by the subtle interplay of light and dark, color and contrast, impact and subtleness that we see in the world around us. We seek to capture that most fleeting of things – a moment in time. Some of us are captivated by landscapes, others with portraits or wildlife or architecture or scenes of everyday life. Our images record moments in time that seem special to each photographer.”
