"​These paintings are of places close to where I currently live. Moments of light, whether afternoon or morning or just the way the light hits tree limbs and rooftops, evoke a sense of time. In this way the paintings are about memory, memory of past neighborhoods and memory of these particular places. They are also about color and shapes which work together to either flatten and simplify or imply forms and space. Altogether these works are of familiar places represented in celebratory color that are a little mysterious as if there is a stage set for a story but not really many clues as to what that may be."
