Places and Things: oil paintings by Megan Kunst
Megan Kunst is a recent Distinguished Graduate in Painting and Drawing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and is the recipient of several scholarships and prizes. Her focus is painting landscapes and still life directly from observation, often including in her still life paintings visual touches to invoke or reinforce a narrative element. Her work was featured in a recent juried exhibition at the Crary, highlighting the paintings of decades of graduates from Edinboro University. She currently teaches art in Delaware.

“In most of the still lives I used pattern to remind the viewer of some natural element. For example, I used a chevron pattern to remind the viewer of waves at the beach. I enjoy combining quirky patterns and objects to imply a story or spark questions." |
