About the instructor
Kathe Umlauf has been sculpting animals her entire life. She has studied art extensively and works in clay, primarily. Her works can be found regionally as well as in national collections. Her clay works are often fired, and some are offered as editions in bronze. She enjoys animals as subject matter because she can combine the formal aspects of design with the personal details of animals to create a work of art that expresses emotion and intelligence. She lives in rural Northwest Pennsylvania with her husband and numerous pets. Her works can be found in Glass Growers Gallery and Kada Gallery in Erie, Painted Finch Gallery in Corry, and Lancaster Galleries, in Lancaster, PA.
